For years, the City of General Roca has hosted the Apples National Festival, in which visitors may enjoy the celebrations by attending the shows that have become a classic.
Through a law passed on October 9, 1964, the government of Río Negro set a starting date for one of the most important popular events in the region of the Valley. Years later, the same provincial government established that the City of General Roca should be the physical venue for the event to take place. This festival would become a tradition to be imitated by the various districts that make up the Apple Road.
Without an exact date, ever since 1966 the festival has been held late in February or early in March. Thousands of visitors arrive not only from the Provinces of Río Negro and neighboring Neuquén, but also from all round the country to try the delicious apples and other fruit produced in this Argentinian region.
