Posadas is the Capital City of Misiones Province. It is situated on the left side of Paraná River being the gate to the imposing natural wonders of this province through Nº 12 National Route.
One can also get to the city arriving at Libertador General San Martín Airport that operates national flights and is 12 km away from the city or from "San Roque Gonzalez de Santa Cruz International Bridge" which links Posadas with Encarnación City in Paraguay.
The climate of the city is subtropical without dry season framed by an exuberant vegetation and a redish land. The annual average temperature is 25º C and in Summer higher temperatures are registered.
The architecture presents old buildings that take you back to the time of jesuitical misions with romantic squares and churches fading into the river coast that provides the tourist with ideal places to relax.
Visiting important museums and historical sites as well as going on tours or excursions in the surroundings are also among the activities to do.
Regarding the most outstanding circuits to make, one can find Santa Ana, Loreto and San Ignacio Jesuitical Settlements, Iguazú Falls (290 km away), Iberá Marshlands in neighboring Province of Corrientes, Yacyretá Dam or an interpretative circuit to mate plantations.
Other relevant activities in the surroundings include Moconá Falls ( 260 km away), sport fishing and water activities in Pira Pitá Fishing Club or the Municipal River Resort.
