The City of Santa Clara del Mar is located on the Argentinian Sea. It has a steady population that increases significantly in the summer. It is accessed through Provincial Route 11, also known as Interbalnearia, 400 kilometers away from the Federal District.
The urbanization of the village began in the mid twentieth century and, even though its constructions and services experienced a remarkable growth, its particular feature is its quietness, its streets made of sea shells, its tiled roofs and especially its fresh air.
Its main characteristic is a spacious seafront with cliffs and breakwaters made of rock prevent the ocean from taking its most precious treasure: sand. Nautical sports angling are the most popular recreational activities. Anglers may fish from the shore or hire some specialized guide to go on a boat trip out to sea.
Santa Clara del Mar offers good accommodation options and camping sites, as well as highly recommended restaurants and pubs. Rural tourism is available in nearby estancias, with the possibility of experiencing daily tasks or go on a 4WD ride across the fields.
The Craft Beer Festival takes place every year during the first week of February. A varied sample of German food, seafood and Criollo recipes is presented together with the traditional beverage made with hop. Tasting sessions of different beer labels, presentations by famous chefs and music shows contribute to the essence of this event.
Enjoying the sunshine, getting a good tan, but also looking forward to the evening to go out with friends in the company of good music and a traditional drink or else is possible just 18 kilometers away from the City of Mar del Plata.
