Ace: The card bearing number 1 or the first card of each suit, such as golds, clubs, swords or cups, is popularly referred to as an "ace".
Bank: Bank is the owner of the house, in this case the casino itself or the gambling house. They are represented by the croupier.
Black: It is the color of one of the groups of numbers that makes up the roulette. Red is the other group.
Chance: Chance is the probability of anything happening or not. During the game, chance is responsible for a number or a card to appear or become visible to us or not. In turn, chance offers multiple opportunities and there is no logic to organize its rationality, because chance is random. Only the rules of a game may reduce probabilities.
Chip: Equivalent to an amount of money. Chips are used to organize bets. When players win, they exchange chips for money at the casino cage.
Croupier: Also called the dealer. They represent the owner of the house and are in charge of taking bets, collecting the money and paying out winners inside the casino. Croupiers abide by the rules of the game, that is to say they cannot alter the game or use their own initiative. They are entitled however to carry out fast arithmetic operations mentally to prevent the game from being delayed. They also have the skill to concentrate on bets and pay each player according to what they have won.
Layout: It is the material on which bets are made. We may refer to the roulette or the card game table layout. Players place their bets there and wait for chance to show whether they have had good or bad luck.
Luck: Someone may have either good or bad luck. Luck is directly linked to a result. Being "a lucky chap" means one has managed to fulfill one's aim, which does not mean luck is the same to everyone.
"No More Bets": This is the phrase pronounced when the croupier determines no new bets may be placed. This generally happens when the ball has been thrown and it starts to search for a pocket to rest. The typical "No more bets" indicates the time for betting on this round of play is over.
Playing Cards: Another way to name cards.
Red: "Red" is called out when the winner belongs to the numbers colored red. Black is the other group. That is why croupiers announce the color before they call out a number. For example: red 36, black 8, etc. Zero, which is also considered a number, is colorless and identified in the layouts in green (the same color of the layout).
Round of Play: A round of play is a sequence of the game. The term is applicable to card games, dice games and roulette. Taking part in a round of play means being part of it and therefore betting, both asking for a card and placing a bet on a number.
Run: A combination in which cards have consecutive rank values.
Suit: It is the value adopted by the cards. In turn, each suit has a numeral value in some card games.
"The house wins": This happens when the casino wins and the popular saying is generally manifested in card games.
