What happens to you, what happens to me, what is not talked about anywhere else, that is what is dealt with here until tickets are sold out.
All this and much more is stand-up comedy, a habit that has come to
Buenos Aires to stay. Even though it might look unusual, this theater styles continues to be one result of independent theater which combines monologue and, of course, acting. It managed to grow and find a remarkable position in the last few years at sites like for example El Paseo La Plaza (1600, Corrientes Avenue). Plays compete to win spectators from the moment visitors set foot in this venue. Believe it or not. “Listen…”, “This is what this is about …”, “You cannot miss it …”, “Do you know…?”, “It’s awesome!”, the very comedians shout out and give out cards to advertise their plays.
There is one show everyday and for all tastes. Stand-up comedy succeeds in luring spectators who did not like traditional theater into this new more agile and dynamic way to enjoy permanent improvisation by new actors and of course new stars.
