Ñandubaysal Campsite and Bathing Resort

Rumor has it that when Uruguayan plastic artist Paez Vilaró visited these shores, he was deeply impressed; to such an extent that almost immediately, he suggested that the owners of this land should build a small Casapueblo, in this case on the Argentinian side. It was a way of carrying on with art in a place where nature had made its own contribution and man resolved to play along.

Years later, amidst the various well-known diplomatic discussions, the controversial Botnia Pulp Mill was settled down in the District of Fray Bentos, on the Uruguayan side. Even though it may be spotted on the other side of the river, it has not succeeded in throwing the majesty of the Argentinian side to the shade. Nature continues to reign, in spite of everything.


Gualeguaychú Has It All

Just 18 kilometers away from the City of Gualeguaychú, Ñandubaysal campsite and bathing resort occupies a 1.5-kilometer area of white sands and clear waters, an ideal destination for thousands of visitors who come along every year.

Water and beach sports, as well as the possibility of swimming in shallow waters, prevail and make this place busy until sunset.

Ñandubaysal has been named after the great deal of tree specimens abundant in the area which, along with the weeping willows, give color and warmth to these gorgeous shores.
