The Cities of Río Tercero and Embalse are bathed by the waters of the river bearing the same name, which the natives used to call "Calamuchita". Embalse has been a preferential destination for graduation trips for decades.
Lying just 50 kilometers away from one another, they are both attractive to visitors who wish to relax and enjoy the various tourist proposals available in the area.
The famous reservoir known as Embalse de Río Tercero, inaugurated in 1936, gave origin to one of the most popular tourist villages in Córdoba with almost ten thousand beds available both in private accommodation venues and old labor union hotels still open today.
This is an ideal site for the practice of nautical and wind activities, among which windsurfing, kite-surfing and kayaking stand out. Likewise, the presence of motorboats and jet skis in the summer season ensures the reservoir will welcome locals and visitors alike.
The City of Embalse has many tourist attractions including its artificial lake, the largest in Córdoba. The dam wall and Lakes Segunda Usina and Tercera Usina are part of the same engineering work, together with the labor union hotels. They are part of the most representative icons in this city of Córdoba.
The viewpoint located in Unidad Turística Embalse, the Alba Posse and Eva Perón Museums, El Quebracho Chapel and the Tercero River itself are must visits during any stay in this city.
