Situated in a beautiful valley in the Sierras Chicas, in the region called Paravachasca by the comechingones indians, Alta Gracia is known as one of the most important touristic centers of the area. Alta Gracia is a few kilometres away from Córdoba city and has an excellent mild climate that makes this place the chosen by those who are eager to relax and contemplate a wonderful natural environment.
The origin of the city brings one back to the time of the spanish colonization. In this region, a jesuitic farm was settled and as time went by it remained inside the city filling the atmosphere with a spiritual and romantic appearance.
The tourist is enchanted by the beautiful architecture of the Church with Baroque style, by "El Obraje" ( another jesuitic construction) or by the old big rambling house of Viceroy Liniers that shows furniture and objects from that period.
The one who likes adventure can do activities in the beaches crossed by rivers or streams such as mountain bike rides, trekking, horse riding, parachuting , fishing or hunting in contact with the wild environment.
In Alta Gracia City, the warmth of its inhabitants is ready to give the tourist the hospitality that is traditional and exquisite. Departing from this place, one can visit nearby cities like Río Cuarto, La Cumbrecita, Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, Villa El Dique or Villa General Belgrano.
