Alta Gracia (photo: Eduardo Epifanio)
Located to the southwest of the City of Córdoba, the most important city in the micro-region called Paravachasca is Alta Gracia. Famous for its micro climate and for having been the home of renowned Che Guevara, this small village of Córdoba perfectly conveys the different features and tourist possibilities of the entire area.
Dams like Los Molinos, reservoirs and mountain rivers, sanctuaries and churches, as well as vestiges of the Jesuit culture -among which Alta Gracia Jesuit Estancia stands out- are some of the must visit attractions.
Alta Gracia has been endowed with a wonderful geography of broad streets pleasant to walk along as history gets mixed with nature.
In Alta Gracia, a house/museum recalls an important part of the life of Ernesto Che Guevara and shares his family rooms with those who appreciate and worship him.
The original construction and the old walls of the Jesuit estancia left their imprint in the origins of Alta Gracia, a city that grew along with the historical events attached to it.
We visited the Manuel de Falla Museum and learnt more about the work, life and thought of the well-known Spanish composer.
