A ride from Trevelín leads us to see the natural wonders of its surroundings and, after crossing onto the Chilean side, to visit the picturesque City of Futaleufú.
As we visited
Trevelín, we felt curious about seeing a little bit more of this unique site in Patagonia; therefore, we decided to make the most of our stay at this area. Following National Route 259 (which reaches Trevelín), we got to the bridge over the GrandeFutaleufú River. We had been told that, a few kilometers away, a raft used to cross the river in the old days, when the bridge had not been built yet. This was the only way to reach the international pass. Very close to this spot, we found three places worth visiting. The first one is the location of the Nant and Fall Waterfalls, beautiful cascades where we stopped for some pictures. Afterwards, we visited the fish culture station at Arroyo Baguilt and a flour mill propelled by water. Both sites are very interesting to see and to learn a little bit more about the typical local activities. Visitors may watch the use and performance of these equipments live.
The total tour is 140 kilometers long and it takes a whole day. It led us through small magical nooks in both countries.
