For people who consider mountain roads a significant part of adventure, the Andes in Northern Mendoza turn out to be an interesting option. Villavicencio Natural Reserve is well-known for its mineral waters and the panoramic views of the valley and the so called precordillera, that is the say the Andean foothills. It is accessed through Los Caracoles Road up to Cruz de Paramillos, then it descends towards Uspallata. Its microclimate of fresh air, the well-defined traits of the four seasons and the presence of elements from the Inca culture are enhanced at this spot.
National Route 7 leads to the Chilean border through Potrerillos, after passing by typical locations such as Punta de Vacas (the access gate to Los Penitentes ski resort), Puente del Inca and Aconcagua Provincial Park. This mount, which reaches almost 7 thousand meters of height, lures mountaineers from the entire world who dream about hitting its summit.
This is always one of the most beautiful ways to see a new place. At Potrerillos, the horses invite visitors to go for a ride around the surroundings of the village, amidst scenes that will thrill any rider.
Its name is immediately linked to Argentina. Every year, its almost seven thousand meters are the target of mountaineers from all over the world who come along to conquer its summit.
An ideal fishing environment to catch large rainbow and brown trout was considered inadmissible at this spot in the past. Today fly-fishing enthusiasts have found a paradise in Mendoza that has come to stay.
A road in which history and nature shake hands. It reaches the exact point from where you can observe the immensity of the mythical Aconcagua.
Villa Potrerillos is the perfect place both for its denizens and for visitors who come along every summer to enjoy its reservoir and recreational places.
We visited beautiful Villavicencio and its mineralized waters. The tour included a visit to the old Villavicencio Hotel and its surroundings, accessed through the Caracoles Path, a dazzling route.
