A plain scene with scarce vegetation awakes different sensations related to silence and contemplation in the northern area of the Province of Tierra del Fuego. On the Atlantic shores, the greatest attractions are represented by endless beaches, the waves breaking against the rocks and fishing in the sea.
Going southwards, the City of Río Grande welcomes visitors with its urban grid and countless activities to enjoy during their spare time. Outings towards the seashore, where a natural reserve shelters a wide array of migratory birds, may be combined with visiting fresh water courses.
The generous rivers and creeks -among which the Grande River, the Menéndez and the Irigoyen are the most famous- guarantee that angling occupies a very important position in the area. There is an annual fishing encounter at the Grande River which everyone wishes to attend: the Trout International Festival.
Several nearby estancias keep the wool livestock tradition and offer accommodation at their shells for guests to enjoy daily rural tasks.
